Ingredients

1 cup butter

1 cup light brown sugar

1 egg yolk

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 teaspoon grated orange peel

1/4 teaspoon almond extract

2 cups flour

1 cup chopped roasted Mandelin Natural Whole Almonds, roughly chopped

1 package (12 oz) semi-sweet chocolate chips
Directions
Grease a 9 x 13 inch baking pan and preheat the oven to 350ºF.
Cream the butter with the brown sugar until light and fluffy.
Beat in the egg yolk. Then beat in vanilla extract, orange peel and almond extract. Stir in flour and 1/2 cup almonds.
Spread dough into the greased baking pan. Bake 25 minutes until golden brown.
Remove from oven; sprinkle top evenly with chocolate chips.
Return pan to oven for 30 seconds. Remove from oven and spread melted chocolate evenly over surface. Sprinkle with remaining 1/2 cup almonds. Cool.
Cut into bars to serve.
